Moderation Is Key

As Oscar Wilde, an Irish writer and poet once said: "Everything in moderation, including moderation." This is such an important and necessary message to be passed on to our generation and the generations to come because it is one of the leading causes of many illnesses and problems.

If we could just seriously apply this idea of moderation to everything we do in life, our life would be fruitful and more productive. This doesn't mean that being moderate would change your life by 180 degrees. It is just a step stone towards a better life and health.

There are countless ways and areas in which one could apply moderation. Would you be surprised if I told you that you need to moderate positive things too? It's true if you think about it. Would you achieve good grades in school or university if you had lots of fun hanging out and little or no studying? Similarly, would you be able to cope effectively with university pressure had you over-studied and not had some balance of fun?

Moderation applies to nutrition and exercise too, where you need to moderate nutrition and not overdose on vitamins, minerals, and healthy foods just the same way you can't overdose on fast food and artificial, processed foods.

Something even more interesting is being moderate even in moderation. Taking anything to extremes is never a good thing as we all know. Therefore, thinking about having to moderate anything and everything is just outside this world. No one is perfect and no matter how hard one tries, we can never moderate everything and that is why we have priorities. Even within priorities we have different levels of importance and thus it is in our best interest to moderate top priorities and then work our way down to the more common things if possible.

What are some issues in which you think moderation could be used and would have a positive impact worldwide?
