Sow Good Deeds, Reap Good Habits

We keep on hearing from our parents, family, friends sometimes that things we're doing are not good habits and that we need to develop good habits that would stay with us as we grow and open up more to the world. Umm... I think there are mixed feelings regarding these matters and depending on the individual habits they're referring to and even though we sometimes hate to say this, but they are right. Let's face it guys, they've had many more experiences and know more about life and all that....
I know some people put labels on habits such as "social" habits, which include smoking and drinking. Why though? Why do we need to label habits to make them legit to do or acceptable? Some habits are indeed initially deeds done in groups and gatherings to help everyone fit in to groups. But guess what, you can always have fun in groups and hangout talking about different subjects without indulging in all these bad habits. By the way, if your friends offer you a cigarette and you say: "no sorry, I don't smoke", they will respect that. A lot of friends respect other friends and people's opinions and choices. If they don't, then they're just not the right circle for you.

You don't need to change yourself for anyone to accept you and you shouldn't anyway. Bad habits most of the times have side effects or harm the individual negatively and no one's going to help you or get you out of a cancer, disease, or darkness resulting from bad habits. So why don't we start a change to engage or turn bad habits into good habits and reap the benefits of those actions and inspire our friends to do the right thing too.

All good habits start with one deed. Obviously, lets face it, it's not as easy as waking up one morning and saying: "Okay, I'm quitting smoking right now". Even though some people have this strength to stop an addiction or bad habit suddenly, most people need to come off gradually. But as the famous saying addresses well: "When there's a will, there's a way". Employing the proper motivation and inspiration will get you past your worst habits and have you reach the light at the end of the tunnel. Also, good habits go all the way with you as you grow up and will just have more people respect you and have you stay out of unnecessary dilemma. However, if you choose not to go with the highway and choose to go with the side road, you might end up taking the wrong exit to addiction down the road, which is never good and will not only affect you but also your loved ones and the people around you.

Note: If you have any tips about transitioning from bad habits to good habits, please feel free to mention them and maybe enlighten or inspire someone!
